Note to Self

Updated: Jul 9

See with the most vibrant eyes,

Hear with the most perked up ears,

Taste with the most wetted tongue,

Smell with the most piquant nose.

Differentiate every detail, every element that co-exists to make this wonderful experience possible.

That allows us to take another breath, another moment in the sun.

Feel yourself to be awake, alive and powerful,

Feel the blood gushing through your hardened veins, feel the energy of a heart that never stops, never sleeps,

And as the heart keeps on, so too will life keep on,

With or without you,

You, who are either a great chance or an absolute surety, both humbling in their own way,

Cherish every moment of life,

that which fleets away without a moments notice,

Without a letter or a goodbye,

Just as fast as it is thrust upon us, it is too hurried to leave.

It takes with it all your joy and wonder,

And leaves experience and pain in it's departure.

So live better, live with the notion of precious time, of minutes wasted not gotten back.

How will you be remembered, on the screens of strangers as skipped stories?

Mindless memes paid with half a chuckle, or a silent sneer?

Or will your words roar in their mighty proficiency,

Mystical words birth forth and grow old in memory.

The only hope, for a wretched writer like me,

Is that a story so remarkable comes forth, from that chasm called creativity,

And capture the imagination so well, that I can look back, to all the hours spent, all the late night cigarettes smoked,

All the journeys my fingers have taken, across the canvas of my keyboard,

And to tell my self truly,

that it was all worth it.
